Membership The rights and benefits of your membership General assembly SMartDe eG Statute Terminating your membership There is a difference between terminating your employment contract with Smart and formally leaving the cooperative. Terminating or not renewing your employment contract does not mean that you have to leave the cooperative! You can remain a formal member of the cooperative without being employed. You can also start a new employment contract as a member at any time. To formally resign from the cooperative, we need you to complete this form.  This allows us to process your resignation officially and efficiently. In the event of a formal resignation, the cooperative repurchases your shares at the value determined at the end of the relevant financial year. This is usually less than the original value of €50 per share. For the 2025 financial year, for example, the value was €41.34 per share. The date on which the cooperative receives your notice of resignation is decisive. The notice period begins on that date and, in our case, is 12 months to the end of the financial year. Your membership ends once this notice period has expired. As a member, you can terminate either your entire membership or individual shares. Please make it clear in your notice whether you wish to terminate your membership (in which case your entire share capital will be repaid) or redeem only individual shares (in which case only the corresponding amount will be repaid). If you own only one share, you cannot redeem it without terminating your membership. The repayment of your shares may take up to three years after the termination of your membership. If we receive your notice of termination between January 1 and December 31, 2026, your membership will end on December 31, 2027, and your share will be repaid after the Annual General Assembly in 2028.
